Drawing fog with five colours

Fog is mostly about the distance between layers. Each ridge, dyke or tree line gets its own flat tone, a little lighter than the one in front of it.

Keep one dark shape close to the viewer — a post, a fence, a tree — otherwise there is nothing for the eye to hold on to.

And sketch early. The good fog is gone twenty minutes after the sun clears the dyke.
